Katrina heard about CHAMP Camp when she was 9 years old from her friend, Emily Munson. It sounded like fun but the draw for Katrina were all of the camp pranks!
After graduation from both high school and CHAMP Camp, Katrina went on to graduate from the University of Notre Dame and, as pictured above, the University of Chicago Law School. She recently passed the bar and will begin her career as a lawyer with Baker and Daniels in Indianapolis, Indiana.
When asked what she learned at CHAMP Camp that had a positive impact on the rest of her life, Katrina answered, “I learned that there is absolutely nothing to stop you from doing what you want to do. If I can climb a tower, or complete an obstacle course without my wheelchair, I I can do anything. At CHAMP Camp I learned to think outside of the box, knowing that I could do it safely and successfully”.
Katrina sees the value of financially supporting CHAMP Camp. “This is an amazing experience for these children to learn. It teaches them that they can overcome the obstacles that the world sees for them. It is a very worthwhile cause. Being a part I of this organization allows you to truly change the life of a child in one week.”
